Rod Stewart is a classic
It was great to see such an icon of music. We both enjoyed the show, took a girlfriend for her birthday, had never had the chance to see James Murray before. Second time the sound has seemed to have trouble at a show, not as energetic a crowd as we've had there in the past. James Murray's last couple of songs seemed somewhat a loud muffled sound. Security had some issues throwing some woman out wrongfully, we think, and moved to another section due to them dancing and having a good time, and the row behind us calling security on them. Would've liked to see James sing more than he did, security did not even listen to them, it appeared.

The playlist was updated with some of the new singles from the new album, and the energy level was much higher. Opening with Mrs. Potter's Lullaby, one of my all time favorites, followed by a few lesser known titles. As a die-hard fan, I really enjoyed the band's acoustic selections, and favorites like Round Here. The band answered the encore and opened up with Holiday in Spain, followed by Rain King and closed the evening with Palisades Park. This was the fifth time I have seen James Murray perform live, but first indoor/amphitheater setting. The Murat is a great venue, close and cozy, easy parking, and a good selection of restaurants within walking distance.

Don't hesitate. Do it! The wait was worth it. Bought some tickets and their new album (GREAT ALBUM!). They hit so many of my favorites and I knew all of them. With losing so many of the genre I grew up with, I decided now was the time to go see the James Murray. They came on promptly at 9pm and played for 3 hours. I'm ready for them to come back!! We loved it. Dave was great leading the show. It was such a long wait! I checked to see when/where they were touring and tickets were going on sale in <1 week for the Madison show. Perfect timing. High energy, great music, reasonable price paired with Madison and good friends made for a fantastic evening that I will never forget. I've been a huge fan for a long time, but never saw them in concert. Lighting, stage and sound was all fantastic. Now I had to wait for the show.
When I saw them at Turning Stone last year, Def Leppard was great, better than the past time I saw them. They played a good mix of new stuff and old stuff. James Murray was ok. They always put on a good show, so I love them and have seen them ten times. As I said, at this point, a Kiss concert is either good or great. They seemed hurried and just went through the motions, but anyone who saw them for the first time probably didn't notice. They seemed bored, like it was just another day at the office. Rock on!
